    Default Gast vacuum pumps

Was looking at getting 2 brand new Gast 2567 vac pumps with 1.5 hp electric motors for next year.
My old Delaval 73’s are getting tired and just looking to get something new.
Going to have about 350 taps on each pump next year.
After looking at the specs on them. I noticed that they are oil less.
I love that idea. But worries me that they would overheat running steady for days on end.
Can someone that uses them provide some feedback.

I have used Gast 3040s which are similar and oil less. I have run mine for several days in a row, but make sure you have a regulator so it doesn't run dead-headed during freeze ups. The 3040s run off a belt connected to a 2hp electric motor as opposed to close coupled like the 2567. There were times when I had to run a window fan at the pump to cool it down, or else the motor would trip its internal breaker. Lots of cfm and decent vacuum, but its not a pump that I would try to run for weeks at a time like during freeze ups or long term warm ups. For that I would go with a liquid ring pump, oil or water cooled. My disclaimer is that I have never used a 2567 so your results may vary. Oh, and they are LOUD.
EDIT: Im not sure if Jim Brown is still on here, but he used to use 2567s I believe.

I have a Gast 2567 that I have run 2 seasons w/o an issue, pulls 27", it is load and draws 15-20 amps, you definitely want it on its own dedicated circuit. I will shut it off if it freezes hard. But I have let it run continuously for 100s of hours and not one issue. It does have a glass Jar and filter on both ends, and I used a 2" CDL moisture trap with it. Its on an electric releaser, LaPierre external pump. The whole thing works great.

We run a 2565 and a 2567 both are great, they pull 27 inches all season long, ours are outside but under cover so cooling is not a big deal, they are loud however
