I am over near Lapeer, and I am planning on tapping next week but first what I do to test the flow is pick one of my maples that gets the most sunlight and put a tap on the south side because that will be your first tree to run. If that isn't running good then I know to hold off on tapping the rest of the trees till it does.

2012 - 10 taps, 10 gal. pot in a 55 gal. barrel. avg. 4.2 Brix, Silver Maple! 2 gal. of syrup!
2013 - Over 30 taps, 10 gal.! Flooded with sap!
2014 - Almost 50 taps with new Leader's Half Pint! 10 gal. Moved, more Maples!
2015 - 55 taps, 13 gal.! A 1/2 gallon into maple sugar!
2016 - 65 taps, 10 gal. 4lbs maple sugar.
2017 - 55 taps, 9 gal. 8 lbs sugar.
2018 - 100 taps, 15+ gal.
2019 - 100+taps 22+ gal.
2020 - took a break
2021 - hoping for good run.
