Batch #3, 117l of sap has resulted in 4l-ish (haven't filtered nitre yet) of what looks like Amber. Haven't graded yet.

Did the numbers and shocked that I have collected only 307l sap to date this season. But, my trees often run til mid April, so if we keep getting cold nights I might make a few more decent batches.
    Been tapping since 2008.
    2018 - 17 taps/7 trees...819l sap, approx 28l syrup
    2019 - 18 taps/8 trees...585l sap, 28l syrup...21:1 ratio
    2020 - 18 taps/8 trees...890.04l sap...gave away about 170l, 30l snafu'd....23l total for me from approx 690l
    2021 - 18 taps/8 trees...395l sap, 12 l syrup
    2022 - 18 taps/8 trees....7 sugars 1 red due to #2 having surgery so had the season off....582l sap, 18.5l syrup
    2023 - 18 taps/8 trees...all sugars again. 807l sap, so far approx 14l syrup

    I agree.
The last run was a series of full buckets.
I expect the same for the next few days. The season may not have been the best east of Ottawa, but it will end with a bang!

Fingers crossed you're right.. today will be the tell tale day if the trees recharged.. when I last checked my lines it appears that my silvers may have dried up..so I may only get a trickle from the few sugars I have.. but who knows.. I wouldn't mind one last boil this weekend.. This will the first year where all my boiling has been done within a 2 week span!

Yeah I think the hourly forecast is off a bit.. supposed by 0 by now and +1 by 1, but it's still -3 with -7 windchill in the Gower.. supposed to be below 0 windchill all day even when it's +3.. that might kill things today..

Didn’t fire up vacuum pump til 2:30 but very pleased to see both tanks almost full by 8:30! Will have 300+ gallons to boil tomorrow and weather looking very promising for the next 2-3 days. Anyone had any “buddy” sap yet? Buds are looking a little ominous on the trees and I’m sure it’s only a matter of time but will take what I can get until that happens.

my trees just poured sap yesterday but started very late and sap collection was less than expected.Should be good today.
Problem now is my sugar content is down to 1.5 %...that's 60 gallons sap per gallon of syrup.Todays run will probably
be good but the sugar may be even lower. The end is near for me.

My silvers have started showing flowers at their very tops but the sap is still fine as I always start to test boil when that happens..
