Hey masonry, tapping tomorrow in my parts. Next week is looking favorable around here, hoping for a few good runs. Wish I had tubing to run or maintain leading up to tapping, staring at them doesn't give me a sense of accomplishment. Maybe next year. Best of luck getting the rest of your lines up.

It will be the first week in march for me. New spouts are on. About 300 this year. Two foot of snow in the woods with 2 inch breakable crust. Snow shoe or not its tough going.

Going out to tap today. Looks like it might run some middle of this week if it thaws out enough. Tough walking with 24” of snow with a 1-1/2-2” crust then another 5” of fluffy snow on top of that.

tapping yesterday saw maybe 2 glistening holes even in the warm sun with most southern exposure. teens sat night, 12 degrees when I woke up this morning. supposed be 37 degrees here today. but I don't think we are gonna see much sap its gonna take about 2-3 days of 40's and full sun to get the "snow ring" at the base of the tree and things defrosted. but as long as the sap is flowing a little I can chase leaks and get tubing fixes done before the tsunami hits!!!
may your sap be at 3%
