    Default North or South

If you only have a month to collect and boil, would you tap the south side of a hill or north. I feel the south ( early run is more sporadic with freeze/thaw conditions although the early run sugar is higher. Northern hill would be later but more consistent.
Your thoughts? Not for me but asking for a friend.
I'm sure Dr Tim has probably studied this.

Give me a reliable and precise weather forecast for the next 3 months and I'll let you know....

The person I'm talking about has a month furlough. He can take beginning or end of the season. I told him take the middle. Lol

I went through our log last year and we’ve had our first boil February 10th one year and March 20th another year. Have finished in mid-March after three 70-80 degree days and have finished third week of April in another year. Mostly in between. Good luck to your buddy. I suggest he call his boss when the sap starts flowing and ask for a month off
