    I didn't pickup on the difference in sugar content, but thought he was referring to gallons of sap per tap...thanks as always.

    Yeah, I was referring to sap gal/tap, but rereading my original post, I can see why DrTim thought I was referring to sugar %.

    that's interesting because most of the places I install vacuum/tubing they lose 1 to 2 tenths of a percent sugar but gain 2.5 times the gallons collected. many around here hit 35-40 gallons of sap per tap under vacuum
