Homemade Releaser
I've been working on an electric over mechanical releaser. I'm debating on whether to use a 1" solenoid vs a 1" motorized ball valve on top of the releaser to allow the vacuum to equilibrate with atmospheric pressure. The pump I have is a Gast 2567 which moves 21 CFM. I need to overcome the vacuum and allow enough air to move through the 1" opening so the flap valve opens and discharges the sap. Anyone have an idea if a solenoid would allow enough air to move through or am I better off using a full port 1" motorized ball valve?
