Yes, Dori has built a rather nice business with some interesting and unique products with excellent presentation.

Tonewood has also been a strong supporter of PMRC research on climate change effects on maple.

strong sales but a high end package. its obviously worked well in the past. for the income she makes i would assume she could hire someone to help during this short term event.

Kind of hard to train an employee when you are stuck in another country... She is in Quebec and the business (packaging) operates out of Vermont. She has solely operated the packaging side of the business.

And who is to say this is a "short term event"? Who knows when the US/Canada border will open? And given the current trend in the US do you think Canada will have any interest in welcoming US visitors anytime soon?

General, you should buy it and expand your market base. Could be she has also decided that it is a good time to get out of a business that she has to go across the border to run.

I did briefly consider it but her business model is really not what I'm interested in. A larger producer with some money to invest in value adding equipment is likely a better fit. Runamok for instance...

All of her products (except syrup in bottles) are produced by someone else. All she does is re-package the product and market it under her brand.

If anyone wants to adopt any of my maple trees at $175 each then I'm available. Those are the kind of customers that I like!
