    Default I pulled the trigger...

It may be a hero or zero move, but I went ahead and tapped in this afternoon. It was a beautiful day in the woods to be working, some trees were running slowly and with the outlook for my area I couldn’t resist.
    Giddy up!!!

That looks like a good forcast for some runs, Has some potential freeze nights to make it even better! I think you will do fine. Still getting ready over here.

Your temperatures look slightly warmer than my area. Humm, I'll have to give this some thought. Wednesday and Thursday are cool here. I'd hate to get going and freeze up. I'll wait till Sunday to decide. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

It's February, so I say go for it! We aren't quite ready here yet, or we'd be tapping too!

How have you made out with your early tapping? Seems like there would have been some good runs in the past weeks.

Well....I tapped in and the weather changed later that night making for a slow start. Haven’t had enough to boil yet but hopefully soon. Are you tapped in yet?

Yes we have 100 test taps in Lewiston where we live and 300 taps in Sumner where our sugar house is. All went in this weekend. Had a decent run yesterday while I was getting my Shurflo system online. Pump ran for about 3-4 hours and pulled about 20 gallons of sap. Its tough having the majority of our taps where we cant get to them during the week. Once runs are more consistent in Sumner we will move the Shurflo system up there, or build a second one. Its new this year.
