    Default 20" RO Prefilter centering

I have a custom made RO. We used a 20" Pentek filter canister. This is 4-5" in diameter. I purchased a case of 5 micron filters, but they are much smaller in diameter. Any ideas on how to keep this filter centered when installing?

You bought the 2.5” x 20 filters. Your filter housing takes the 4” ones.

I agree with Bricklayer on this one.
I'm gonna take a guess and say that you might try to make the smaller ones work? Hey, I'm one to adjust stuff and make stuff work too. But here, you may be better off from the get go to just get the correct ones designed to fit your housing. Good luck!

I have a 4” x10” on my RO and ive never been able to get it to work properly with a smaller filter. I tried it once. And if it didn’t work. You risk pumping unfiltered sap into your membrane. I would find another sugar maker with an RO and see if he would buy you’re box of filters. And then get the right size. 4 x 20’s are not easy to find though.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I did order the wrong housing for the filters. I think a 4" filter is too large for normal use. I resolved the issue by cutting a bracket from stainless steel. I'll take a pic, but it keeps it centered and allows flow around it.
