Another point, at 50 taps you are thinking too hard, you don't need that much info, at least not yet. When you get into at least the hundreds or maybe even the thousands, then the measuring devices might help. I'm not in any way picking on you about 50 taps, just trying to help you get some perspective.
If all of your taps will flow into one container, and you can only collect once a day, plan on a 100 gal tank, if it will only be collected on the weekends, figure 4-5x that.

After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.
