Default Benefits of being a dealer of equipment

What's the benefit of being a dealer? I see most items are the same price weather its from a dealer or the manufacture? How does the dealer profit from this?

I would assume that manufacturers sell at wholesale prices to dealers and retail prices to direct customers. Manufacturers make more from direct sales but make fewer of them because they lack the retail space to make a lot of sales.

Very little profit. When its all said and done not much left over. My benefit to being a dealer is seeing all the operations and helping them do better. As an end user for syrup we buy a decent amount and it works well for our customers to have a complete circle.

Equipment is a terrible business for profit. But it gives access to bulk syrup if you package maple syrup.
