Depends on what caps your using, some don't have the foam, just a stiff paper sealer that stays in the cap. Unless it's bare metal they are probably ok

If most of the caps were the same brand and same vintage, and they had foam seals, do not use the ones without. If the caps are 2 different brands or maybe even made at 2 different times, they might be OK, ask the dealer you bought them from. Most brands have some type of seal in them, a few don't. Some of those might have a clear seal however, that is not readily evident, again, ask the dealer you bought them from.
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.
Who is the manufacturer? The new CDL jugs made by CDL do not have foam like the les cruchons and ampak jugs did. I am skeptical of them but the price difference is significant, around 20-25% less.
I just contacted the dealer and they said they would send me out some replacement caps. The jugs are Sugar Hills.
To my knowledge, all Sugar Hill caps have a foam seal in them. You were wise to question that.
