    Default Sight glass

Got a new evaporator last year. The only part that is not stainless is the sight glass. 1/2 inch pipe thread coming out of the raised flue pan. Needs to be about 8 inches minimum. Any thoughts where I can get one? Thanks in advance, Doug

Did it get broken, or just needs a good cleaning. Mine has been used since 2012, same glass. I use a bottle brush for the necessary tube I.D.to clean mine. It still looks like new. I clean it every 2-3 days in season, anytime you see a scum line forming, just push the brush down and back up 2-3 times and done. I don't recall who I got my brush from, I just googles the size, diameter and length I needed and then I bought 3. I still have 2, one got badly bent, kinked beyond repair.
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
    After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.

Any good brewing supply store should have them. Here is an example of one:

CDL sight glass tube are bigger in diameter than most. I always keep a spare on hand. I think they are 1.5” diameter 8” tall.
