    Default Food grafe 45-gallon drums

Anyone have experience with food grade drums used originally for concentrated apple juice used for making cider? i got 4 today for sap storage but was wondering if after washing with a food safe sterilizer, would i be left with off-flavors or tastes?

Just make sure you rinse them thoroughly and then do it again

You will have to rinse them several times with water only to get any remnants of the concentrate out. The barrels will still smell like apple afterward but the flavor won't transfer to the sap as long as you don't let sit in them for a long time.
