Default Question on general amount of soap in soap wash

Had a friend make a custom made RO for us. It has 3 4"membranes and it worked great for us last season. Got busy with other things and farming and got behind on the end of the year cleaning. We had done the normal rinse and hot wash daily while using the RO but we would like to do a soap wash and I'm just not exactly how much soap to use per 4" membrane. Any general numbers other people go by?

You need to get some PH test strips, Add soap while running your wash until you achieve your desired PH level for your membranes, I use the CDl super flour soap and I believe it is buffered so its pretty hard to get your PH too high. I'm not certain if other soaps are the same, also you should get something to neutralize your soap wash before you dump it. The PH test strips are available at most any good Hardware store or maple shop and they are cheap enough.

Especially with your first wash testing the PH is crucial. After that just write down the measurement of soap per your wash tank and it should be much easier going forward. For example I know that with my wash tank I need just under 1/2 cup to get really close to 12ph.
