    Default Sand filter

    Does anyone out there use a sand filter to filter their sap? If so could you share some insight on sizes of filters and pump size? We usually average about 120,000 to 140,000 gallons of sap per year. Thanks

    There was a thread here this winter/spring. Not recommended.
    2018 RO Bucket RB5 taps 20, leg tank in shed w/2 5/16
    2017 18 taps
    2016 20 taps
    2015 21 taps
    2014 30 2 gravity line, 2 hotel pan concrete arch 35 g leg tank
    2012 buckets 12 taps
    2 burner cook top 2012 finisher
    2011 rookie 2+ gal
    8 taps w/ milk jugs
    turkey cooker
    50-60 up back maybe

    We do it, best way to filter that weve found. hayward sand filter and pump, 2 inch, 1000 gals through in 13 mins, 15 when its dirty.
    2008-2013 30 Taps half buckets, half tubing
    30"X42" pan over oil arch
    2014- 1200 on vacuum, 200 gravity
    2015-2017: 2500 on vacuum
    2018- 2500 on vacuum, 100 buckets. selling sap & helping in saphouse.
