    Default Overspeed a Procon Pump

I was looking through some Procon pump specs and ran across an interesting note...

Note: Nominal flow rating for each pump model is based on operating the pump at a speed of 1725 rpm, at a discharge pressure of 100 psi, with 70°F tap water as the fluid. The values are measured averages; individual pumps will deviate from these values. Because the pumps are positive displacement pumps, the discharge flow (in gallons per hour) is directly proportional to the speed at which the pump is being driven (800 rpm - minimum, 1725 rpm - maximum for Series 6, 2300 rpm - maximum for Series 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5).

Interesting that this note is on the Series 6 spec sheet but not on the Series 4-5 sheet...

So what??..... If you had the means to speed a 330 gph rated procon up to 2300 rpm, you would increase its output to 440 GPH.... Good to know. ((but maybe not as easy as it sounds?)

I tried a 3600rpm motor on one by accident. Lasted 10 min. Flowed real good for 10 min though
