    Default RO storage

If one chooses to store the membrane out of the unit,...………. is it a concern that you leave any SMBS in the machine over summer/fall/winter?

I have stored my membrane out of the machine in a PVC cylinder, and it worked OK, just don't recall if I flushed the SMBS out of the membrane to clear the machine.

The manual states to just store it in the machine. I can store it so it does not freeze.

    Thanks!

My manual stats the same with storage in the machine. So I store it in the machine. Hard to beat manufacturers recommendations.

I have a homebuilt so no manual. I stored in PVC containers last year but a RPIA getting membranes in and out of machine. What cleaner and or preservative are you using to store in? Thanks

I use a 1 weight% solution of sodium metabisulfite in water. I believe this is pretty standard.
