    Prefilter question?

    After concentrating..

    Rinse for 100 gallons
Switch prefilter to my ‘wash’ filter
Wash 30 mins or until RO turns off

My question is do I now leave that prefilter in and rinse my last 150 gallons or do I put a new prefilter right after wash then rinse last 150 gallons

I have a different RO, but I leave my wash filter in for everything wash/rinse.

Same here, I leave my wash filter in for the entire wash and rinse cycle.

We finished running the RO and then switched to the the wash filter, rinsed 100 gallons, ran the wash, rinsed with 150 gallons.

For information sake (rookie) why would you change filters? Is it a smaller micron thus letting more liquid flow since it is permeate and already spotless?

You only need to change the pre-filter after the wash and final rinse are done. The exception to that is if you are running the RO to concentrate sap and the feed pressure drops too low. On my RO, that pressure is 20 psi. Under that the high pressure pump can be starving for sap.
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
    After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.

    Totally get it.

What psi are you generally running your feed pump? Was curious for a shallow well pump homemade build
