    Default Preservative rinse

    Ok..Iím rinsing my preservative out of my cdl 250 this weekend: do you guys just rinse with 300 gals permeate or rinse with
    Permeate/ soap wash/ then rinse again?
    2010 - 28 taps, homemade brick arch
    2011 - 421 taps, 2' x 6' homemade evaporator
    2012 - 276 taps
    2013 - 385 taps, new 2' x 6'
    2014 - 600 taps, new 7" short bank filter press

    This is what I do:
    1. Do a 5 minute rinse.
    2. Do soap wash.
    3. Do a 10 minute rinse.
    4. Change pre-filter.
    5. Run R.O. - concentrate.
    Dave Klish about 1320 taps in '15, doing fewer each year, about 450 planned for 2020 (and after?)
    2012 Mahindra 36 HP 4x4/ loader/cab/heat/AC:-)
    added a gooseneck equipment trailer and F350 to tow it to haul more sap
    3x8 raised flue evaporator
    250 GPH converted to electric, RO by Ray Gingerich
    6.32 KW solar system, 1.48KW is battery backed up, all net metered

    Just so Iím clear... after I change the prefilter I then rinse with the remaining 200 gals of soft water... I will then be ready to run fresh sap through the RO

    That should do it
    54 Acres bought in Sept 2010, hope for a lot of fun

    2011 = 106 on gravity tubing, 100 bucket
    2012 =700 vaccuum 100 gravity 80 bucket's
    30" x 12' Vortex with Leader Revolution Max Raised pans
    2013 = 1200 vac, 200 gravity, 5 buckets, buying from 300 buckets, 500 vac
    Springtech RO 600 Deluxe
    2015= 1800 all vac @ home, buying sap from 1200.
    2017= 2200 all on vac. no longer buying sap

    I would put a fresh pre-filter in just before concentrating.
