Nice Dlee, Still waiting here in Mattawa, been -15 at nights. Has there been much sugar sand? I read on the provincial report that it's an issue this year

Things are slowwww up here as well, the last couple of nights were -18c but with the above zero temps. during the day and full sunlight some trees of various size are slowly starting.
Since the 23rd I have a total of 15 litres of sap from 25 taps, maybe 5 actually dripping and added another 5 taps today.

My brother is reporting the same, basically nothing.....too much snow and the nights are too cold for the poor trees to wake up.
Hopefully the next couple of days will change things a bit
2022 - 21 taps: 470 litres of sap / 15.75 litres of syrup (stopped season short)
2021 - took the season off

I just returned from his area and put another 10 taps, one tree flowing like a race horse, the tree beside it, nothing, funny how that works. My trees here are now full flow, full sun yesterday and today, +7c today, and a good breeze blowing.I should have enough to boil this weekend and work some more bugs out of the barrel evaporator, but between hockey playoffs, basketball playoffs, a banquet to attend it will be a rough one.
I haven't pulled an all nighter in about 30 years lol
    Good luck all

Everything shut down up here today, we've gone from one extreme to the next. Too cold one night, too warm next night too hot today +13c !! Go figure. So much for that all nighter.
Dont blink your eyes up here the weather forecast will change if you do
Another 2018 season coming right up
