Not yet. Based on the forecast I am thinking it may be the end of the first week of March unless things change. Looks pretty cold this week coming.

Not even close to tapping yet. The forecast isn't looking even remotely close til March 7th which is usually the date by which I set my spiles. And if the season does start late, I may tap only my 4 biggest trees and leave the bush maples and smaller trees, cause I have to be done by end of April. Don't need a Maplegeddon!

I checked my log and I had my first boil in early March last year. I'm planning on tapping in two weekends. Will be an interesting season. Still getting more cold and snow..I'm going to need to snowblow a path around my trees to get them!

Hey Galena.. I sledded through Kemptville on Saturday and ended up at the clubhouse.. you mentioned you live nearby.. I looked for buckets hanging but I think I saw your sugar shack!

We're 75% tapped. We got a few hours tapping done on the Saturday of the long weekend. This weekend we had 7 of us at it on Saturday and 4 of us tapping yesterday so we managed to get about 3,000 taps drilled.

It was not fun. Snowshoes to get around are pretty much mandatory and any taps that are hanging are frozen into the ground. Yesterday morning we tapped in pouring rain followed by high winds in the afternoon.

We should get the balance tapped this coming Saturday so we are ready to go when it warms up enough.

I'm with Les...too cold yet here to make sense to tap.....Have a new boil pan thanks to Mano-Steel, has the baffles, thermometer and drain valve, can't wait to fire it up....also new chimney and connector for the barrel....Blew the budget, even bought a rain cap this year....14 day looks like I'll be a while yet to tap....few warm spells but nothing that lasts...
