Our trees started to run April 11. Boiled 320L on April 16, got 8L syrup. April 19, boiled another 80L sap got 1.75 L amber syrup. Stopped running til today, but barely dripping. Temperature's been between 6-8°C on the hill, past few days and cool at nights, so hoping for more. Still 1-2 feet of snow in the bush.

    Default April 22

April 21, 62 taps, collected 40 L sap this morning. Looks like it could run today. Calling for 16°C (60°F) and sunny which may get the north-east facing slope running better.

Here in Cantley we had a great season. It started on March 9th and ended on April 15, 2019. We made 69.125 litres of syrup from 69 pails. A good year considering the slow start. We actually still had a foot of snow on the ground when the sap stopped.

Started 1986 12 taps made 3 gallons boiled over open fire in large pot then to 18" x 66" evaporator boiled at 20 gph, 132 taps made 30 gallons. Moved west no maples but back now
Now tap 60 trees, using D&G 18X48 wood Evaporator

April 26, 40 gallons sap. April 27, 1 gallon syrup.
April 29, promising weather forecast for the week, above 0, partly sunny days and below 0 at nights. This could be the start of a major sap run. We're standing by.
