    Default Tapped in Woodville 2019

Well, the first 100 anyway. New bush is running like crazy. Taking a lunch break then back at it. This year, I'll be 225+ on tubing (about half on mechanical vac, a lot of the rest on 3/16" natural vac.) and 250+ once the buckets are in - though I'm losing the love on buckets.

It's going to be a wicked good season.

6+ hives of bees (if they make it through the winters)

Nice! I tapped 10 for a friend and 10 for me today, both early runners on 3/16 gravity lines and they are running strong. Waiting a week or two for the rest. Found a small grove of 30 red maples in the woods near a swamp that I had never tapped before, on almost no slope. Will combine that with another line running a Shurflo pump with one of my S3 controllers.

    Hey Dave,

Tomorrow I'm tapping the woods I have on your S3. Things are going to freeze up for a few days, so I'll probably turn the vac on the next run. I'll let you know how it goes. Next year, I'm going to move it over to where I have 100+ taps coming in - or I could get another S3...

BTW, I haven't forgotten about that blurb. It'll happen. Just not sure when.

The epic season has come to an end here in Woodville. Last boil was yesterday and finished everything off today. After a couple of cruddy years, the maple gods took pity on me and provided in abundance. We set all kinds of records here. More than 3,800 gallons collected and 82+ gallons of syrup made. First time over .3 gpt. The peepers were celebrating with us last night.
