    Default Vacuum generators

I am planning to install a traditional 5/16 tubing system and am looking at different ways to get high vacuum (26 in Hg). My system will have an 800' vacuum line and a similar length returning sap line with needing to lift approximately 20'. I am wondering if a vacuum generator rather than a vacuum pump could be used to generate the vacuum needed for the system. I was wondering if something like the Gast VG-260-02-00 could be used to create the vacuum?

are you looking for something like this?

It can also be set up with larger reservoirs or with a venturi and air compressor.

The way this is set, my vacuum pump turns off at 26.5 inches +/- and on at 19 inches of vacuum. I went this route for my needs as it is quite. I did not want my air compressor running in the background generating all that noise so that ruled out the venturi arrangement.

I'm looking at the venturi vacuum generator. Something like this

I would have guessed that the vacuum generator is for when a mechanical system already uses compressed air and a vacuum line is needed to control a valve or something. I wouldn't think it would be efficient to generate compressed air and continuously release air just so one could create a vacuum system. But I'm really no expert.

Look at Joewoodworkers veneering vacuum press. He has a set up using a venturi system. In the gallery their are several examples of others builds that might fit your needs. For some odd reason my computer is acting up and I cant get a link to work for you.

That is a new concept to me, I read what Gast says, but I'm unsure. Do you have the air pressure to make it work? I did not read how many CFM of air pressure at what PSI is needed to make that work.
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
    After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.

For this particular vacuum generator, it uses 4.9 CFM of air at 68 psi.
