    Default Right lids for bottles

This is our first year trying to bottle for in jars for retail. We had always done it in mason jars before for just personal use or family members. My question is 'will the lid seal'? I bought gallone 8 oz jugs from berlin packaging that came with a black cap and an ldpe liner. The jar is designed for syrup so you would think the lid would seal but I am clueless as to if it will or not. I hate to think of putting syrup in them and then it going bad. I have searched this site and berlin's as well with no luck. If these won't work what exactly should I be looking for? Thanks!

just make sure your syrup is 175-180 degrees, and they will seal'you can also lay the jugs on their side for a few seconds to help with the sealing process

Short answer. Yes they will seal. Fill bottle to where the threads start. Put the cap on tight. Lay on side for a few minutes and your good.

Remember to heat the glass bottles to 180 degrees before you put the syrup in. Especially 8 oz bottles.

Thanks so much for the responses! I just didn't know if they would work or if I needed to be placing an order asap. For curiosity's sake....which type do you all prefer to use? What should I look for in the future?

I use which ever caps the vendor says are for the bottle. The only point I'd change is the temperature. I've had better success bottling at 185-190 but not over 190. Remember to lay the bottle on it's side about a minute (more will not hurt). That kills any mold spores on the cap.
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
    After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.
