    Default 2019 season

So I might have jumped the gun a little. So I put in 47 taps on Sunday and sap was flowing really well. In a 24 hour period I collected 31 gallons and it was still going. Freeze thaw cycle is looking to bad over the next 10 days. Hoping I didnít tap to early

I tapped a little early too. (2 weekends ago) It was the only time I could do it though. There was one decent run last week, then the deep freeze hit and froze everything up. I started trying to collect last Friday and grabbed about 30 gallons and then everything froze. I'm still dealing with some frozen sap, but I'm able to collect it now. The first boil of the season started at 5 am this morning. I collected about 60 gallons so far to start. There was actually a huge run going on last night. It ran all night. I have yet to collect the bulk of the rest. With the run last night, I'm going to have quite a bit. I'd better keep feeding the wood into the boiler, and get collecting. Good luck with yours.
    2011 15 taps.
    2012 40 taps.
2013 100 taps, all sap sacks. Custom built 2x6 wood fired evaporator and sugar shack.
    2014 125 taps.
    2015 145 taps.
    Ö 2019 175 taps.
