Cdl 250
Picked up a CDL 250 yesterday and I am going to hard plumb all 3 lines to tanks. So with that being said, anyone with one of these units have it hard plumbed in? Could you post up some pics of your set ups? I know how I am going to do it but I always like to see other setups and maybe get some better ideas. Thanks a bunch

We looked into hard plumbing ours. It was recommended to just run the hoses the first year to get a feel for it. The only part we hard plumbed was piping to the permeate tanks and to the feed tank to the evaporator.
It came down to several valves and a lot of piping. We were looking to run our sap through twice (using two tanks). Then you need a hook up to the permeate tank. There are three valves and piping to three tanks. Then you need to figure in your wash tank. The permeate also needs to be be disconnected along with the concentrate for the cleaning process. The feed line, permeate line, and concentrate lines go into the wash tank.
My head started to hurt after drawing it out on paper several times and caved on using the tubing. It was probably easier than building some complex cool looking pipe contraption which we did not have space for.

Tapping since 1985 (four generations back to early to mid 1900s). 200-250 taps on buckets and then tubing in the mid 90s. 2013- 275 taps w/sap puller 25 gal. 2014-295 taps w/sap puller 55 ga. (re-tapped to vacuum theory) 2015-330 taps full vac. 65 gal, 2016-400 taps 105 gal, 2017-400 taps 95 gal. 2018-additional 800' mainline and maybe 400 new taps for a total near 800 taps. 2x6 Leader WSE (last year on it) supported by a 250 gph RO.
Mine is on a rolling frame and I have nothing hard plumbed. The first year it had a gas engine, so I had to roll it outdoors. By year 3 I converted it to electric, but it still gets rolled from my RO closet to next to my man door to the sugarhouse. I still use 1" PVC hoses to feed it, 3/4" braid reinforced hose for concentrate and potable water hose for the permeate. I do have 3 sap tanks side by side that feed the supply hose, they, are all on 1.5" spiroflex hose and manifolded to them is a 1" recirculation hose from my head tank and a 1" permeate hose from my permeate tank. That way I can switch from any source to another just by closing one valve as I open another. All 3 tanks for sap each have a valve too so I control which is supplying the sap. That sap hose has heat tape on it, in pipe insulation. It only gets plugged in when needed. I never saw a need to change.
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.
