Default Airablo 151 vacuum pump help

I need to replace veins on a 151 airablo vacuum pump . Do I take the pully off first or take the back plate off the pump . Manual does not help any . pump is very noisey and sounds as if has a broken vein .

Just take the back plate off they come right out easy. You didn't even need to take it apart. Note they are NOISY pumps.

    Thank you Jared .
I pulled the back off and the veins are fine . Would not build vacuum and was very noisey . Will change oil and filter and try again .
Any suggestions as to why it would not build vacuum .

    Thanks again

I had this happen last year, i have a smaller one then yours but, but when i changed the oil and filter after a little while the noise went away and ran great for me the rest of the season. I should add it would build up pessure just not more then 23 inches until i did those things. Then went up to 28inches.

I will second that they are loud pumps. My set up is difficult to get the back plate off because of where the moisture trap sits. I end up taking the whole vacuum pump off and put it on my tailgate pulley side down and pull the back plate off. I think I've done it 3 times in almost ten years. Super common I guess with these pumps with a little moisture and them freezing. So common that I currently have two extra sets of veins just in case. During the season they are not easy to find, for that matter not easy to find during the off season!

They do need a good supply of oil to make good vacuum but they also need to have a clean exhaust/reclaimer if they get plugged and have no where to go with the air they pull in they won't make vac.

Should be a big plug 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 inch on the reclaimer right by the sight gauge. I was wondering if anyone used anything other than airablo oil I don't have that available here.
