oh man I hear ya....if someone said I had to give up my evaporator or my fishing boat I'm not sure what I'd do, but probably the evaporator would be in troubleBoating is the hobby that carries us through til' syrup season.

I had a boat a few years, I soon learned where the saying "a boat is just a hole in the water to dump money in".
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.

Maple syrup tastes a lot better than a boat, doesn't sink, and won't run out of gas.

You're right on all counts Doc...but we can't make syrup after April. Gotta have something to do! For me it's boats - both Sail and Power.
One likes the wind - the other hates it.
Anyway...back on track. Merry Christmas to all, and we all need to get busy - it's getting a bit testy in here.

Hey John...I got nothing against boats....except that in Vermont you can only use them 3-4 months a year. I much refer power boats (see photo)...sailing always seemed like too much work to me.
