    Default Taps in too long

    Buddy of mine STILL has taps in trees from this past season. Just how bad is that for the trees???? Gonna try pull today....

    Really doesn't harm the tree at all. I have found taps from last year that were missed and they had the cambium trying to grow around it. The holes are as clean as can be just a dark grey.

    I know a guy that has a large amount of taps and he pulls them a year later when he is taping for the season. He said it saves time not having to pull them and his lines stay cleaner being washed out with next to ZERO percent sugar content sap. Plus he said any squirrel damage is at the tap is near the tree that he replaces every year.

    I would try it if it was my woods. Heck I wonder if there has been a study on the effects.

    I forgot some from the year before and decided to pulled them, bad idea, they leaked during the season.
