How many taps does everyone generally have on a 5/16 line? Just a kid new to the sugaring game, but having fun.

The old saying was strive for 5, never more than 10. I have any where from 3 to 7 on my 5/16. If you have a 20' or more elevation change use 3/16" lateral line, with ther slope and 3/16 you should run 15-30 taps on each lateral, yes, more than on 5/16.
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.
I'm running 10-15 on a 5/16 depending on length of line . I run about 125' per lateral. We're Flatlanders so I am 250' between mains. I produce 1/2 gallon per tap with tree management. If your on slope that's changes alittle. Don't waist your time or money with extra mains.

Sounds like you are Hobby producing and not using Vacuum? If that is the case than 20+ would be fine, I have one line that runs to a 55 gallon barrel that consistantly gives me 40+ gallons a day with very little slope on the line and 25 taps

Yeah no vacuum here but experimented with 3/16 on very steep slopes last year. Just curious about different sizes. Thanks for all the input!
