Default Doyle's thornless blackberries-anyone grow them?

Have one bush, producing big time this year, buuuuutt berries certainly are NOT sweet to eat right off the bush like regular wild blackberries.

I agree on the blackberries. I used to go to Farmer's Markets and one thing I sold was Blackberries. I had what I will call nurtured wild berries. I have access to large timber cuts and if you keep them pruned and open to light you can get really good crops. My wild berries that I groomed would sell out within an hour and the people with domestic blackberries just quit bringing their's. I have never tasted a domestic berry as good as wild.

Same here. I'll take shredded hands for flavor of wild berries over the modified commercial varieties any day. If you manage wild plants by tipping tops and laterals in winter you get very consistent crops year to year.
