    Default Camping in VT

I'm planning a hiking trip for this weekend...a bit last minute...

Driving up Friday morning and hiking Mt Abraham/Ellen, and then Saturday will be Camels Hump and Mansfield. I'm trying to find a place to pitch a tent in the Camels Hump/Mansfield area, so we have a short drive in the morning to start our hike. We're day hiking, so looking for a campground or something to set up at. Driving back Saturday after the hike.

Little River was recommended to me by a friend, but they're booked. Does anyone have other suggestions?

    Thanks for the help.
    Josh

Underhill State Park https://vtstateparks.com/underhill.html Take the Sunset Ridge Trail up Mansfield from there.

Just a few miles from PMRC.

Thanks Dr. Tim. Underhill sure would be convenient, but they don't take one night reservations until the day of...it'll be a crapshoot, but may give it a shot.

Would you hike the Sunset Ridge trail up, then down the ridgeline to the Forehead, and then out the Maple Ridge Trail?

Is the PMRC open on Friday or Saturday?
