    Default Does this look right

Today I cleaned the RO with a 12pH Alkaline wash, then did a 250gal rinse. My flows have definitely improved significantly in that now the permeate flow is at the top of the flow meter (>2gpm) with concentrate flow at 0.5gpm @ 500psi. After the rinse I removed the membrane for summer storage soaked in sodium metabisulfate. I was surprised at how dirty the ends of the membrane are. To me it looks like some biological fouling.

    Questions:
    1) How bad is it?
    2) How do I get rid of it?

Proper end of the year cleaning would be a soap wash, acid wash, soap wash, flush, then out for storage. Acid gets rid of minerals, soap gets rid of bacteria
