Default Does Anyone Clean Their Steam Away With Snotty Sap?

I am trying to avoid using acid to clean the steam away. I saved the last couple of tankfuls of distillate, looks like the flue pan might be clean, but won't know for sure until I lift the steam away. Syrup pan is clean, pumped the distillate from flue pan back up into the steam away, added 5 gallons of vinegar to it,but it has been so cold that there is a skimmer of ice on top. When it warms up some will drain steam away, and pressure wash it. If it doesn't come clean it will either be snotty sap or acid. Thoughts?

I rinse my steam away at least every other cook with distillate. Amazing how much snot and niter forms and needs to be cleaned out especially in the later part of the season.
I also like to run the sweet from the flue pan through the filter press as part of my every other cook cleaning process.

We use 2 gallons of vinegar and fill with permeate in the back pan and 1 gal vinegar and permeate in the syrup pan. Light a good fire and walk away... Drain the pans the next day and pressure wash the nasty out, the pans come out spotless.
