    Default Another frozen sap question.

I have bags that are totally frozen with no liquid in them. Is the sugar still in the ice at 2% and if not where did it go? Hoping to finish this week with the higher temps for a change.

It's still in the bag. It's just been too cold to have any liquid. Once the ice thaws, you will have your 2% back. If you thaw out about 2/3rds or 3/4ths of the ice, your left over unfrozen sap will be >2%. Then you can throw out the ice. If you have bags with PVC holders like I do, I had to wait until the temps were in the 40s for 2 days then I was able to get it all out and break up the ice because it gets soft.
