Default poor season near Green Bay

It has been a while since we got any good sap here. I collected some the other day but the sap is foamy so will dump that. Hope we get at least one more run this week only 25 gallons of syrup on 140 taps

Hmm, are you tapping maple trees? This is our best year ever in Green Bay. What is your collection methond? When did I you tap? If you would collect and cook the sap right away it would be fine to use.

I will also add that in addition to being above average on our sap flow, we are way above the average for sugar content. Which has contributed mostly to our above average crop.

    Default It's getting better

I guess the season is not so bad . We should have a littler over 45 gallons by the weekend. Plan on pulling taps if it does not rain to much this Saturday . It was slow for quite a while . And yes they are all maple some trees did not produce any and some were good when the weather was good . We will see what next year brings

The last 2 days have been the best runs of the year despite the taps being 6-8 weeks old on bags

It's been a very good season for me too - and it's not over yet! The forecast for next week looks like more sap runs, but my wood supply is dwindling.
