    Default Critter stole my bucket?

For a couple weeks i've been finding one bucket knocked or blown off the spout on a tree that flows well. I've wondered if it's wind, or a critter. The bucket is usually within a few feet of the tree. It's maybe 30' into the woods on my property. Tonite i went to look and again it was off the spout, but the bucket was gone. I started looking around when i saw movement and found this possum hiding behind the tree. He didn't run, just ran up this tree about 5' up, and stayed there. So i think i've found the culprit, but I'd like to know what he did with my bucket. It's a 5-gallon white plastic one, easy enough for him to drag away. But why would he take it?
