Glad my evap isn't electric, lol. SaP is running a bit today and yesterday. Lots of lines down in Blairstown, Hardwick. Maybe boil later today. Be safe at work.

You're one busy man 5050. Stay safe and I hope the sap gods are generous and repay your tireless work helping those without power.

Yea 5050 keep your wits about you and keep your men and yourself SAFE... Get ready for round Two. Winter Storm Quinn. (Don't you hate it when the weather channel names winter storms.) Karen the worst winter storm I ever worked was an ice storm was kind of up your way. Jan 7th 1998 ( probably before you were born) we got sent to Alexandrea Bay area. Across from Kingston, Ontario. We were up there 30 days and the warmest it got was 11f most days 0 f or below. Now with this last storm down here I see Hydro Quebec trucks down here helping us in the Hudson Valley NY. That was a 42 year Very Fun Ride! After next year you will miss it 5050!

George, I was definitely born before '98 and thanks for that morning smile. You've made my Christmas card list. The storm in '98 didn't hit my part of Ontario but it changed the landscape in the Ottawa area permanently.

The last two major Winter storms we've had at my home, which occured over Christmas 2013 and Easter 2016, had a disastrous impact on my trees. Still recovering from the damage three years prior, the 2016 storm pulled my trees right out of the ground - with their sap buckets attached. I posted these pictures at the time:

We were so grateful to see crews from far and wide helping us regain power to our homes.

My sister lives near Yorktown NY. She's still without power from the first storm. Stay safe everyone. Hope this second storm passes quickly and without incident.

Then come up to Hardwick and set a few poles and fix the lines for us. LOL . In all seriousness , be safe out there. I did collect 120 gallons on Wednesday before storm , 1.8 % sugar which is my highest yet. If you haven't checked you probably have sap out there, so try to get it collected before you get your daily maybe 4 hours of sleep if you're lucky, and snow pack it will hold for about a week . Once again be safe out there.
