Boil it, it will make good syrup.
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.
Thanks for the reply, glad to hear you say that cuz I have 2,000 liters yet left, the warm temperatures are causing it to get a little cloudy I suppose?

As long as it isn't really slimmy or ropy (sticks to finger and looks like snot) it should be good.

Boil as soon as you can before it spoils. I've made a lot of good syrup with cloudy and yellowish sap.

If I would have thrown away all my cloudy sap this year I would have about 15 gallons vs 73 gallons of finished syrup. As mentioned sap can spoil and you can make bad syrup from spoiled sap, so you do need to collect and boil as quickly as possible. Your going to make darker syrup with the cloudy sap but that's what everyone wants now anyway. So its a win/ win!

My rule of thumb has always been the smell, taste and sight test. If it smells like sweaty socks - toss it, if it taste funny - toss it, If I can't see the bottom of my tank at all - toss it.
