Default SE Michigan been decent flow...

The flow had been pretty good already we have boiled 85 gallons of sap from 37 taps and have close to 50 gallons in the storage tanks!

If you haven't tapped yet get at it!

I expected today to be really good. Instead I pulled a mere 20 gallons.
Warm, Sun, however we had I think just enough wind and just not quite cold enough temps here in Mid Mich last night.

Although I am boiling to finish some right now and I am very happy. Last year I had very low sugar content the result overall tended to be a slight molasses flavor to the syrup. This year sugar content seems to be back and my syrup has a slight buttery flavor again.

    2016 100 3/16 taps/buckets 315 gallons of sap = 11 gallons finished Turkey Fryer/ grill side burner (propane)
    2017 100 3/16 taps /buckets 797 gallons of sap = 8 3/4 gallons finished. Home made brick arch (wood)

I have caught a couple descent flows in the last week. I've collected well over 300 gallons on 150 taps. I've only got 4 gallons of finished syrup but will finish the nearup today. It looks like starting Friday we should get a good week of runs and I think they will be big ones. Fingers crossed

SW Michigan (Grand Rapids) has also been great. Tapped on Feb 17. More finished syrup than I've had by this time of year. At least 600-700 gallons off just over 100 taps.
20 years into this - Started with 8 paint cans and a borrowed turkey fryer
