Sad to say the Reds are starting to bud here in Wood County , pulled some and will pull more, may get another run or so out the Sugars and Blacks, any body else noticed ?

I can't say for sure that my reds are budding, some look pretty swelled, after twenty years of making syrup in my location in WV I have learned to give up on them by March 1! Another practice I have adopted is no new taps after March 1, rarely do I produce good syrup after the 3rd week of March, hopefully this year is like 2013 when I made good syrup in April.

Sad to say but my sap went buddy and I thought I had all the reds pulled ,not sure but I am defintely going to start marking my reds with the leaves on,, Some are just hard to id ,at least for me ...
Next year !!!
