Default 1/2 hose for 5" filter press

What's the best stuff to use on filter presses?
I will be putting hoses directly into hot finished syrup ( 200 degrees)

I bought press used and it sat for 2 years and had clear /fiber reinforced 1/2" ID hoses already on it that had mold in hoses.

Thinking I will just go to hardware store and get same type hose unless I need something specific?

Most use milk hose as it will take the heat and is made for food.

Milkhouse or steps after hose is a thick wall and will handle the heat and doesn't kink. It also holds better on barb fittings. I have had blowouts of the reinforced hardware hose.

Transflow will work fine for the pickup side...transfer hot syrup up to pump. Be careful on the output side as there's lots of pressure on that hose. It forces syrup through the press. Mine has a stainless braided cover on it. The output from press to bottler is no pressure much like the pick up hose. Check Bascoms or US Plastics in Ohio.

I use 1/2" milker hose on my 7" press. I have metal pipe and fittings between my pump and press to handle the high pressure. I have been using the same pieces of hose for quite a few years now. To keep it from getting mold inside I wash it good with hot water.

Right my filter press already has Steel piping between the Press plates and pump this is a hand pump model and I just need to replace the hoses for the pickup and output but I want something better than standard hardware store type hose and was looking 4 specifically what milk oh is made of whether it's silicone or vinyl?

" Transflow blue stripe" is 1/2" ID and 13/16" OD
It's the thickest wall stuff I can find online that's food grade and high temp(500) degree

The other nice thing about Milk house hose is it loses all its memory and is great for LAYING in a pan as a suction line. I always put a heavy barb fitting on the suction or discharge line to hold it down to the bottom. Dang the hose reminds me of myself because I'm losing my memory all the time to......I think.
