Leaking pressure gauge question Part 2

I understand the liquid-filled gauges help to prevent the needle from "quivering" while in use. The question is do all RO's have liquid-filled gauges on them? The needles would move that much without the glycerin?

I was thinking that maybe the solution to leaking gauges is to not use a gauge that has leakable fluid in it to start with. But I don't know if all RO's require glycerin gauges. Any thoughts?

What style gauge does your RO have? Filled or unfilled?

Thanks Tim. I did vent the gauge correctly. Apparently, I was the unlucky recipient of a leaker. I'll purchase another one and hope it has a little more longevity. -Steve

To answer your question about non filled gauges, on an RO the needle would flutter back and forth so much you would have little if any idea what the pressure was. Just my opinion, but I think the unfilled gauge would self destruct from the needle jump.
