    Default Tapped in Monongalia County

I tapped one small section this afternoon.
I will be adding more this week when I have time.
Nothing flowing today, I'm hoping to see some sap tomorrow when it gets above freezing.
I bought an older Gast vacuum pump on eBay.
I have it hooked up to my antique Bender Releaser.
I know it is early but the long distance forecast looks ok.
Can't wait to start a fire in the evaporator.
I have a Leader Half Pint and a home-made Mattatuck Madness RO.
150 taps. All on vacuum this year.
I tried the Leader 5/16 checkball taps last year.
I'm going back to 7/16 this year.

I am still not ready yet, so I am ignoring the warm-up this week. Also, probably a bit colder her in Preston county. But, I am very curious how it goes this week

I had good flow for 3 days. Added a few trees each day at lunch hour.
Saving half for the future. Maybe 2 more weeks.
All done for now. It was a good opportunity to test new vacuum pump and releaser.
Releaser needs a little more fiddling, but it works.
I will be testing RO tomorrow.
    Then cooking a small batch.
Very small, but the first run is usually delicious.
    My favorite.
