2010 - 28 taps, homemade brick arch
2011 - 421 taps, 2' x 6' homemade evaporator
2012 - 276 taps
2013 - 385 taps, new 2' x 6'
2014 - 600 taps, new 7" short bank filter press
I put one together but still need to add the final touches to it. I used a 2x8 and an idler pulley from tractor supply.

Not quite complete (mainly releaser stuff yet). Hope to get it fully up and running to have it run once or twice this year.

How do you loosen belt off the idler wheel?

We have two set up like this. Has worked very well.
12 x 16 shack with 8 x 16 addition
2 x 6 D&G raised flue with hood
Homebuilt releasers
220 taps on vac
100 plus taps on buckets
Gast 1550 on gas engine
HF vac pump on generator
Anyone have any experience putting a gast 1550 on an electric motor? Sick of filling a gas tank 2-3 times a day
Im running mine with a honda 2000 with 1/2hp motor
2x6 RAISED FLUE PANS
by WF MASON
650 taps on vac.
100 on bags
That was going to be my next question, what size electric motor works best. I just picked up a 1/2hp used electric motor that spins 1725rpm so I'm thinking I'll match the pullies and should be good to go
i think that will work fine , the 1550 i used to have was a 1/2hp 1725 rpm with the same size pulley on the motor as the pump and it worked great
