Default 5/16 or 3/16 as main

Question! I’m new to running lines this year. I won’t be running vacuums or mainline. I will be running either 5/16 or 3/16 lines on a gravity to a barrel. Just didn’t know which would be best for this, and how many taps each line I would want to max out at. Any help would be great! Thanks!

I believe that it would mainly depend on the slope. With 3/16” and more than 10’ of elevation drop below the last tree you will create vacuum and from what I read, you then can have up to 25 or more taps per lateral. But if you have little or no slope 5/16” will carry more volume but I don’t think you’re supposed to have more than 7 or 8 taps per lateral and I read something about limiting the length of lateral.
