    Default Bender weights

Just tried my bender releaser this afternoon.
I tried it with the stock weight on the float and it would only take about 5" of vac
Added a stainless nut to the float and it went to about 8" of vac.
If I crank vac up to 22" it just sits there and bubbles.
I tried adding stainless nuts to the rod under the float but that didn't have any effect.
Any bender guys out there have any ideas.
I was under the understanding that the stock weight on the float would handle 15" hg no problem.
    Do I have another issue.?
It's running off a Delaval 73 so max CFM it's pulling is 8 CFM at 15" roughly maybe less

I've tried every combination of weights (nuts, washers) on the float rod and on the float itself and can't seem to get it to cycle properly above 10"hg

I thought maybe there was a problem with the black rubber tapered washer on the top of the float not sealing properly because under 15" of vac the float will rise to the top and just sit there and hang up. If I crank up vacuum level at this point it will dump but when it gets to bottom it won't reseat and it will just sit there.
All the parts I'm using are bender original parts.
Is there any mods I can do to the rubber washer to make it grab and seat better. I looked at hardware stores but there isn't much that resemble the tapered washer. Hamby Dairy sells them but I've heard the new bender replacement parts don't work well with the older benders

This is a video from another post on mapletrader that the bender was doing the same thing. No feedback on how it was fixed. Same issue

hey post a pic of how you have it setup ..... if your using the bottom port for the vac and a dump that is you problem most likely because of poor vac transfer and slow dump cycle ( yes that is how they set it up from the factory, but i tryed it that way and had no luck with consistent cycling ). i wouldn`t mess with the rubber tapered seal at the top, bender have a small built in leak to help break and recycle the float rod and also you shouldn`t have any bubbles coming in from the bottom that just shows you have a leak.

My bender only has the bottom 1"inlet through the jar and the top plastic piece for vac feed. Nothing else
I'm going to try and scrap the original check valve with the plastic ball and get a real check valve. See if that makes a difference
I can get it to fill the jar at 12" hg and then it won't dump it will just sit there until I crank vac up a bit. Then it will dump. But won't seat and refill until I turn vac down. So my thoughts were that the top of the rod wasn't being held up by the vac. My plastic cap is original I think. It looks old but who knows. I've heard that if it's tapered a bit you can file it down and make it flat so the rod top seats right against it to hold it up while dumping.

i wouldnt file or mod anything !! get 2 flapper check valves use the bottom 1 in nipple on the pyrex jar with a cv for the dump only! and use the 1/2 in nipple on the side of the stainless top hat for the inlet with a cv just before it . trust me it will work the right way for high hg and cycle efficiency. ive setup all of my own and 7 other large and small benders to work my way ,and they do with zero tweaking or tending . if you lived closer i would head over and show you how to set it up.

bricklayer look in my gallery at the pic titled bender hut if you enlarge the pic you can see the ss nipple on the side of the top hat ( that is my infeed ) , if yours doesnt have that port i would suggeust adding it.

Mine doesn't have it. Just the bottom 1" and the top vac inlet. I'll see if I can get a barb welded on it. Going to try it with better check valves first. At least make it work under 15" then go from there
